Skin Care Journey by Reddit User : u/RoughTear6236
If you’re grappling with breakouts and a perpetual battle against shine, I know exactly how you feel. Oily, acne-prone skin can feel like an unpredictable rollercoaster—one day it’s clear, and the next, new breakouts appear seemingly out of nowhere. And let’s not even get started on the midday grease that sneaks up on you just when you think you’ve got it under control.
But here’s the good news: after years of trial, error, and a whole lot of learning, I’ve finally pieced together a routine that has brought my skin some much-needed balance. It’s not perfect (whose journey ever is?), but it’s been a game-changer for keeping my skin calm, clear, and under control.
Let’s dive into my current skincare routine!
Morning Routine
1. Cleanse: I use the Simple Refreshing Facial Wash. It’s gentle and doesn’t strip my skin, which is crucial for oily skin.

2. Tone: Next, I apply the Aqualogica Green Tree Balancing Toner. It controls excess oil production and preps my skin for the next steps.

3. Serum: I alternate between a niacinamide serum and a vitamin C serum. Niacinamide regulates oil production, minimizes pores, and fades acne scars. Vitamin C brightens the complexion and boosts collagen production.
4.Moisturizer:For moisturizer I use ponds light moisturizer as it’s suits best to my skin.

5. Sunscreen: I rotate between a few favorites, including Aqualogica Sun Shield and Dot & Key Matte Sunscreen.

Evening Routine
1. Cleanse: I stick with the Simple Refreshing Facial Wash.
2. Tone: I use the Aqualogica Tea Tree Balancing Toner to prep my skin.
3. Treatment: I apply The Minimalist 2% Salicylic Acid to target active breakouts.
4. Moisturize: I finish with the Ponds Light Moisturizer.
Looking Ahead
I’m eager to incorporate snail mucin into my routine. It’s packed with healing properties, including anti-inflammatory and regenerative effects.
A Word of Caution
Everyone’s skin is unique. What works for me may not work for you. I encourage you to do your research, patch test new products, and listen to your skin.
