If you’re like me and deal with combo skin that’s oily, acne-prone, and comedone-prone, you know how challenging it can be to find the right Skincare routine for oily acne-prone skin . Over the years, I’ve tried countless products—some hits, some misses—but I’m finally getting closer to a system that works for me. Here’s my current skincare routine for oily acne-prone skin , along with a bit of my experience and the results I’m seeing.
Morning Routine (AM)
- Cleanser:
I use the Fash Foam Cleanser (dermatologist-prescribed).

- The truth: I’m not a fan. It doesn’t wash off easily, which can be frustrating in the morning rush, but I’m sticking to it because my dermatologist recommended it.
- Lesson learned: Sometimes, you have to trust the process when working with a professional.
- Serum:
I recently introduced the Deconstruct Vitamin C Serum to my routine.

- It’s too early to comment on the results, but I’m hopeful it’ll brighten my skin and fade those stubborn acne scars.
- Moisturizer (Optional):

Garnier Micellar Water is my holy grail.- It effectively removes makeup and sunscreen without irritating my skin.
- Cleanser:
I use the Simple Micellar Gel Face Wash in the evening.- This one’s better than the green refreshing version because it washes off quickly and doesn’t leave residue.

- Listen to your skin: Each area of my face has different needs, so I tailor my routine accordingly.
- Don’t give up on professional advice: While some products (like the Fash Foam Cleanser) aren’t my favorite, trusting my dermatologist’s expertise has paid off.
- Experiment with care: Not every product will suit every part of your face. Adjustments, like using different moisturizers for different areas, can make all the difference.
- Affordable doesn’t mean ineffective: Boroline and Garnier Micellar Water are proof that you don’t need to spend a fortune to get great results.
